Training Training FAQs |
Training FAQsHow will Live help me stay up-to-date in my training? The format of the Live programs allows for easier updates to program materials, which will ensure that students are receiving the most current information. The modular structure also allows students to tailor their training paths to meet their individual needs. How do I find out which programs are recommended for my position? I-CAR has designed new training paths to assist all professionals in the collision industry. Organized by collision repair tasks, the training paths allow individuals to determine their training based on their chosen task area in the collision industry. Based on your position duties, more than one task area may apply to you. The I-CAR Recommended Training Paths not only assist you in being properly trained in your current position, but help you plan for future career opportunities as well. Am I required to take the post test, and am I able to use my notes to take the test? What happens if I do not pass the post test? To successfully complete a program, you will be required to pass any offered test. A post test will be administered at the end of most programs. When taking the post test, you will be allowed to use class notes and the objective worksheet that is provided for you. If you do not pass the post test, you will have the opportunity to review the program material using your CD-ROM, which includes the classroom presentation, all the videos, and the demonstrations that were performed in class. You will be permitted to audit the program at no additional cost and retake the post test. How many points will I receive toward the Gold Class or Platinum Individual programs for successfully completing I-CAR training? One or two points (depending on the program) will be awarded for the successful completion of each Live program unit, which is roughly equivalent to four hours of instruction per point. Certain "hands-on" qualification tests, such as the I-CAR Automotive GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Test, have an increased number of associated points. Points are not awarded for qualification test preparation programs. How do I earn a certificate for I-CAR training that I have taken? When following the I-CAR Live curriculum, I-CAR rewards you for successfully completing certain class groupings following the I-CAR Recommended Training Paths. Please refer to information on I-CAR training certificates for complete program groupings. Please allow four six weeks for certificates. If you have not received your certificate in this time, please call admin support at 07 32550447. To ensure the confidentiality of our customers’ information, no certificates will be issued from internet requests. What is included on the CD-ROM that I receive at the end of each Live program? The CD-ROM includes an instructor audio track, video demonstrations of classroom exercises, and all instructional videos shown in class, in addition to a student textbook for your review at home. Virtually all information presented in class is contained on the CD-ROM. What type of computer do I need in order to use my CD-ROM textbook at home? The CD-ROM textbooks can be read using a Power Macintosh 300 Mhz or higher, or an IBM compatible Pentium II processor 300 Mhz or higher. Specific system requirements for both Macintosh and IBM compatible computers are listed on the instruction installation sheet. How do I find out about the availability of Live programs in my area? I-CAR class schedules are continually updated. Class schedules can also be obtained by calling I-CAR admin support at 07 32550447.
