A brochure detailing the Masters Program has just been released (see Figure 1). The brochure explains the new Collision Repair Masters Program to interested technicians. Laid out in the center of the brochure is a training plan that Ford dealer technicians must successfully complete to achieve Specialist Technician and Master Technician status in the field of collision repair (see Figure 2). The training plan includes the collision repair related I-CAR Enhanced Delivery programs and qualification tests.

The Masters Program is structured into four specialty areas: collision repair, alignment and mechanical, refinishing, and structural repair. The training plan to achieve Light Repair Master in the collision repair specialty area consists exclusively of I-CAR Enhanced Delivery programs. The training plan includes Worker Protection Program 1, Tools And Equipment Program 1, Welding And Cutting Steel Programs 1–5, Welding And Cutting Aluminum Programs 1–3, Corrosion Protection Program 1, Fundamentals Of Collision Repair Program 1, Damage Analysis Programs 1–4, Adhesive Bonding Program 1, Trim And Hardware Program 1, Straightening Steel Program 1, Straightening Aluminum Program 1, Exterior Panel Repair And Replacement Steel And Plastic Programs 1–2, Exterior Panel Repair And Replacement Aluminum Programs 1–2, Plastic Repair Programs 1–2, and Movable And Stationary Glass Programs 1–2.

The training plan of programs to achieve Light Repair Master in the refinishing specialty area consists of two paint maker specialty programs. I-CAR Enhanced Delivery programs make up the rest of the training plan. All of the I-CAR refinishing programs, 1–6, are included. This includes the Refinishing Qualification Test (Program 6). Also included are Worker Protection Program 1, Tools And Equipment Program 1, Corrosion Protection Program 1 and all of the Damage Analysis Programs.

The training plan of programs to achieve Heavy Repair Master in the structural repair specialty area includes even more I-CAR Enhanced Delivery programs, including the Structural Parts Steel Qualification Test (Program 5) and the Structural Parts Aluminum Qualification Test (Program 5).

Ford dealer technicians will be attending I-CAR Enhanced Delivery programs just like anyone else would be taking I-CAR training, through I-CAR’s existing class delivery system with I-CAR Instructors. They will use the same curriculum, have the same registration process, experience the same inter-industry classroom experience and take the same program post-tests and qualification tests, as well as receive the most up-to-date training in collision repair.
