Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases July 12, 2006 NEW I-CAR® PRICING STRUCTURE IN CANADA EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2006
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL - July 12, 2006 Keeping up with the economic drivers associated with training delivery, pricing changes are in store for most I-CAR training program delivery systems in both Canada and the US, effective August 1, 2006. The cost of Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual training coupons for Live programs will be priced at $90 CDN, keeping these the lowest-priced coupons available. The regular I-CAR discount training coupons will be $120 CDN, while the "at-the-door" cost will be $150 CDN. The price of the I-CAR Virtual Classroom programs will be $60 US (which is converted to current Canadian rate at the time of purchase), while Online Training programs and Collision TV costs will remain unchanged from their current prices of $45 US (converted to CDN at time of purchase) and $75 CDN respectively. The number of coupons required for I-CAR qualification tests also remains unchanged. "As a not-for-profit organization, I-CAR is proud of the fact that we are able to provide high-quality training at a nominal cost, especially considering significant changes in the North American economy," said I-CAR Director of Business Development and North American Operations Rick Tuuri. "There are times when every business needs to adjust prices due to operating costs and inflation; I-CAR is no exception to this rule of business. We have all seen prices rise, sometimes dramatically, for many essential items like gasoline, groceries, or services, and I-CAR training programs are subject to the same economic drivers. When it is all said and done, industry-recognized I-CAR training programs are still the best value for your training dollar by far." I-CAR is also taking significant strides to improve customer service. To help achieve this goal, I-CAR is reducing the amount of time between when a class is taken and when results are sent to the student. "A major step in delivering timely results to the industry will be the enforcement of the payment policy," continued Tuuri. "I-CAR will work closely with its program instructors and volunteer base to ensure that only students who arrive with payment will be admitted to the class. Delayed payments pose a significant cost of operation for I-CAR, and we are asking for the industry’s help to lower this expense and improve our ability to quickly process student training records. I-CAR believes that we owe it to the industry to do all we can to improve the timeliness of student records." I-CAR also recently announced that it offers the opportunity to print individual transcripts at no charge via the myI-CAR function available on the I-CAR web site (www.i-car.com). I-CAR will continue to print and mail new transcripts and certificates to all who complete I-CAR or I-CAR-recognized training. Effective July 1, 2006, anyone requesting a transcript or certificate reprint directly from I-CAR will pay a $40 CDN fee per reprint requested. I-CAR encourages everyone to avoid this fee by logging into the myI-CAR section of the web site for self-print transcripts. I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international not-for-profit training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of consumers.
