ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW AVAILABLE FOR I-CAR® 2004 INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL MEETING IN CHICAGO
ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - March 30, 2004 - I-CAR will host its 2004 International Annual Meeting - 25th Anniversary Celebration August 4 - 8, 2004, at The Fairmont Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. This event will be one to remember, as I-CAR will recognize those in the past and present who have dedicated themselves to educating others and leading the industry into the future! The I-CAR International Annual Meeting will bring together hundreds of collision industry professionals from across the United States and Canada to “Celebrate the Shared Vision,” which is the theme of this year’s meeting.
Highlights of the meeting include:
- General Session - The General Session will be held on Friday, August 6, and will include the outgoing Chair address highlighting the I-CAR key accomplishments during the past year, incoming Chair address by the Chairman elect with a vision for the future, and the I-CAR Executive Report featuring the present status and future direction of the organization. The General Session will also include the I‑CAR Education Foundation Executive Report featuring activities in the past year that have had a profound affect on the future of the collision repair industry’s entry-level work force. Attendees will be taken down “memory lane” during a very special presentation highlighting the history of I‑CAR. Help celebrate the dedication, commitment and contributions of I-CAR volunteers as they are inducted into the I-CAR Hall of Fame. Those who have dedicated 20 to 25 years to I-CAR will also be honored and there will also be special activities throughout the General Session to commemorate the I-CAR 25th anniversary celebration.
- Technical Clinics - The I-CAR 2004 International Annual Meeting will again feature a variety of technical clinics conducted by leading industry organizations. Learn about industry hot topics by attending presentations from OEM’s, equipment and product manufacturers, and information providers. Technical clinics will be presented on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Each clinic will be 45 minutes long and will allow attendees the flexibility to attend the programs that best fit their schedule and training needs. - I-CAR Education Foundation Golf Tournament and Luncheon - Come join the Education Foundation for the third annual golf tournament at the Fresh Meadow Golf Course in Hillside, Illinois. This par 70 course with rolling terrain, lakes, sand traps, and trees creates a challenge for even the best players, yet is enjoyable for golfers of any skill.
- Odyssey Cruise Welcome Reception - Come aboard this elegant yacht for an evening of networking with industry colleagues and friends. This evening will be truly memorable as we sail the waters of Lake Michigan and enjoy the views of the world-famous Chicago skyline.
- Historical Lake & River Boat Cruise (Spouse Program) - Aboard this 90-minute cruise one will witness the story of Chicago and how it grew over the years. Travel the same Chicago River that Father Marquette and Louis Joliet explored in 1673, pass the north bank where Du Sable was first to establish a trading post among the native Pottawatomie, ride down-stream to where Fort Dearborn stood, and sail through the heart of the city where the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 reduced the city to ashes. The magnificent skyline of Chicago will accent all of this rich history.
- Shedd Aquarium - From the day it opened in 1930, the Shedd Aquarium set a new standard for aquariums around the world. It was the first inland aquarium to maintain a permanent exhibition of both freshwater and saltwater fishes and remains the largest indoor aquarium in the world. Its popularity and reputation attract visitors around the world, making it one of the most visited cultural attractions in the city of Chicago.
- Field Museum - Discover the astonishing diversity of life across vast reaches of time and space and connect with people and cultures from every corner of the globe. The Field Museum - named for its founding donor, Marshall Field I, - is one of the world’s greatest centers of research and an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.
- 25th Anniversary Awards & Recognition Banquet - Join us as we “Celebrate the Shared Vision” with our volunteers, instructors, and industry partners who have made the last 25 years possible. The featured entertainment for this evening will be the “Fabulous Murray Brothers,” a talented group of four vocalists who play 25 instruments spanning the eras of Big Bands, Contemporary, 50’s-60’s, Rock n’ Roll, Disco, and Dixieland. Their act is full of humor, anecdotes, and skits with impersonations such as Elvis, The Blues Brothers, Satchmo, the Village People and more. After their spectacular performance, enjoy their music as you dance the night away.
