ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS APPROVED FOR I-CAR INDUSTRY TRAINING ALLIANCE

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - January 29, 2002 -Approval of additional programs from I-CAR Industry Training Alliance providers Car-O-Liner Company, Dupont Automotive Finishes-US, Spies Hecker, Inc., and Standox North America has increased the number of technical training programs and locations available for meeting Gold Class Professionals® and Platinum Individual™ program requirements. Formed by I-CAR in 2000, the Alliance brings together technical training providers to optimize the training efforts of the collision industry.

Product manufacturers DuPont Automotive Finishes-US, Spies Hecker, Inc., and Standox North America have each been approved for the Refinishing Today program. Equipment manufacturer Car-O-Liner Company has been approved for Basic Computerized Measuring (In Shop) Training, Basic Bench (In Shop) Training, Basic Speed Rack (In Shop) Training, and Basic Mechanical Measuring (In Shop) Training. Upon application, students will be eligible to receive two Gold Class points for each of these programs. Gold Class points apply toward I-CAR’s Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual programs. Through the Alliance, these programs have become training benchmarks for businesses and professionals in the collision industry.

All I-CAR training resources are now available to career and technical schools and colleges and industry training organizations participating in the Alliance. I-CAR also maintains a database that includes student records for all Alliance training programs. Other Alliance members include equipment manufacturer Chief Automotive Systems; product manufacturers Akzo Nobel Coatings, Inc.-Car Refinishes, BASF Corporation, DuPont Automotive Finishes-Canada, Lord Fusor Corporation, Martin Senour Paints, PPG Automotive Refinish, and Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes; and vehicle manufacturer General Motors’ Service Technical College.
