DUPONT AUTOMOTIVE FINISHES - CANADA JOINS THE I-CAR® INDUSTRY TRAINING ALLIANCE

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - April 29, 2002 - I-CAR announces that DuPont Automotive Finishes - Canada is now a member of the Industry Training Alliance program. Formed by I-CAR in 2000, the Alliance brings together technical training providers to optimize the training efforts of the collision industry.

National Training Manager John Miller of DuPont - Canada stated, "DuPont - Canada became involved with the Industry Training Alliance because it was the right thing for the students. The Alliance helps students get acknowledgement for the training that they have invested in." Miller further commented, "There is also the added issue of training overlap. Students were taking a number of different courses that had the same content. The Alliance gives credibility to the approved training programs."

The approved training programs from DuPont Automotive Finishes - Canada are: The Art of Colour Tinting (four Gold Class points), ChromaSystem-ChromaPremier (five points), Automotive Refinisher Preparation Program (four points), and Plastics Program (three points). The Gold Class points that students can receive for these programs apply toward both the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals® and Platinum Individual™ programs.

"We are very pleased that DuPont Automotive Finishes - Canada has joined the ranks of other respected industry training providers who have joined the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance," stated Steve Johnson, I-CAR’s Director of Marketing. Johnson further commented, "By adding quality technical training programs to the Alliance, industry professionals are given greatly increased options for meeting their training needs. Ultimately, this benefits the consumer, whose vehicle is being properly repaired by trained professionals."

I-CAR training resources are also available to career and technical schools and colleges, and industry training organizations participating in the Training Alliance. In addition to DuPont Automotive Finishes - Canada, Alliance members include technical training providers Akzo Nobel Coatings, Inc., Car Refinishes; BASF Corporation; Car-O-Liner Company; Chief Automotive Systems; DuPont Automotive Finishes - United States; Lord Fusor Corporation; Martin Senour Paints; PPG Automotive Refinish; Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes and Spies Hecker Inc. A complete listing of Training Alliance training programs is available online at www.i-car.com!

I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
