ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW AVAILABLE FOR I-CAR® 2002 INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL MEETING IN SALT LAKE CITY

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - April 3, 2002 - I-CAR will host its international annual meeting July 17-21, at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. Online event and hotel registration is now available at www.i-car.com. I-CAR’s annual meeting is an important event that brings together leaders of the collision industry from across the United States and Canada to address current trends and issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about new products and technologies and share ideas with industry leaders.

Highlights of the meeting include:

  • Networking Breakfast - New for 2002, a networking breakfast will be held prior to the start of the general session. This will give attendees an opportunity to network and socialize with their peers in the collision industry. This event is sponsored by CARSTAR and SAFECO Insurance.
  • General Session - The general session will be held on Friday, July 19, and will include the outgoing chair address, incoming chair address, executive staff report, Education Foundation staff report, OEM panel, and presentation of the results of the value proposition survey in a "game-show" format. The executive staff report will provide updates on Enhanced Delivery, the Industry Training Alliance™, and the new I-CAR web site to be launched in April.
  • Technical Clinics - Technical clinics will be presented by leading industry organizations on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20. Each clinic will be 45 minutes in length and will allow attendees the flexibility to attend the programs that best fit their schedule and training needs. A list of participating industry organizations will be posted on the I-CAR web site at www.i-car.com.
  • Education Foundation Golf Tournament - The tournament will be held at the beautiful StoneBridge Golf Club, immediately following the CIC meeting on Thursday, July 18. There will be several opportunities to win prizes and hole-in-one contests. The cost to participate is $125. Come and show your support of the Foundation! Sponsors of this event include: ADP/Claims Solutions Group, Akzo-Nobel Coatings, Inc., BASF, Caliber Collision Centers, Car-O-Liner Company, CARSTAR, Copart, CSi Complete, FIX Auto USA, ICI, JD Hendler & Associates, Mitchell International, PPG Industries, SCRS, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, and Sports & Imports.
  • Education Foundation Dinner - The Education Foundation dinner will follow at Log Haven in Mill Creek Canyon and will include presentation of golf awards as well as highlights from the tournament. Situated on 40 private acres in the Wasatch National Forest, Log Haven features incredible views of wildflowers, waterfalls and majestic pines. Log Haven has been long considered Utah's finest canyon dining. It has received many awards and commendations, including Best Salt Lake City & Best Canyon Restaurant. This event is sponsored by Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc.
  • Heber Valley Train Tour & Luncheon - Experience the Old West and witness its scenic splendor aboard Utah's 100 year-old scenic steam train. Participants will ride vintage coaches pulled by coal-burning steam locomotives through the alpine countryside of Heber Valley, along the shores of Deer Creek Lake, and through breathtaking Provo Canyon. Experience history in motion aboard the chartered I-CAR train, with a stop at Vivian Park to enjoy a sumptuous barbeque lunch with local entertainment. Held on Saturday, July 20, the cost for this event is $40.
  • Awards & Recognition Banquet - The awards and recognition banquet will feature the entertainment of Keith Matheny, "the mentalist extraordinaire." For more than a decade, Keith has crisscrossed the country "making believers out of skeptics as he helps unlock the powers and mysteries of the mind." Keith is regarded as one of the world's most entertaining and captivating mentalists. The awards banquet will be held Saturday evening, July 20. The pre-banquet reception is sponsored by PPG Industries, and the awards and recognition banquet is sponsored by ADP/Claims Solutions Group and State Farm Insurance.
