LORD CORPORATION JOINS INDUSTRY TRAINING ALLIANCE

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - I-CAR announces that Lord Corporation is now a member of the Industry Training Alliance. Formed by I-CAR in 2000, the Alliance brings together technical training providers to optimize the training efforts of the collision industry.

Senior Technical Trainer Nick Gervase of Lord Corporation stated, "Lord Corporation became involved with the Industry Training Alliance because we are very involved with both the automotive market and with I-CAR. We see it as a mutual benefit for both companies." Gervase further commented, "Students are the ones who will benefit the most from it, due to the fact that the Alliance brings many training sources together."

The approved training program from Lord Corporation is the FUSOR 001 Metal and Plastic Bonding / Repair Program. Students who complete this training program are eligible to receive 1 Gold Class point. Points apply toward I-CAR’s Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual programs.

"I am pleased to welcome the Lord Corporation to the Industry Training Alliance," stated Tom Mack, I-CAR executive vice president and chief executive officer. "As we continue to add quality technical training programs to the Alliance, students are given greatly increased options for meeting their training needs. This ultimately benefits the consumer, whose vehicle is being properly repaired by trained professionals."

All I-CAR training resources are now available to vocational-technical schools and industry training organizations participating in the Alliance. I-CAR also maintains a database that includes student records for all Alliance training programs. In addition to the Lord Corporation, Alliance members include technical training providers Akzo Nobel Coatings, BASF Corporation, Car-O-Liner Company, Chief Automotive Systems, DuPont Performance Coatings, Martin Senour Paints, PPG Industries, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes and Spies Hecker Inc. A complete listing of Alliance training programs is available online at www.i-car.com.

I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
