AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO THE CANADIAN COLLISION REPAIR INDUSTRY-I-CAR TRAINING… ALIVE AND WELL IN CANADA!

As you may or may not be aware, I-CAR recently restructured operations in Canada to ensure that I-CAR training will continue in Canada. This letter will serve to clarify some of the confusion that stems from this restructuring.

Restructuring was necessary due to the weakened Student activity during the last two years throughout Canada. Prior to this reorganization, I-CAR Canada licensed its training and materials from I-CAR International under separate License and Management Agreements. These agreements were terminated, overhead expenses were reduced, and Canadian operations were restructured to a Field Manager (Tracey Blouin) and Administrative Assistant. "I-CAR Canada" refers to the Canadian Board of Directors and Development Fund and is a separate issue from training continuing in Canada. This advisory Board of Directors was originally formed under the License and Management Agreements, which are no longer in effect.

It is important for all of you to know that I-CAR training is continuing in Canada. I-CAR International is committed to ongoing training and supporting the great Volunteer and Instructor group that has been established over the years. There are many parties supporting the continuance of this training, including the International Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the Canada Board of Directors, Senior Management, the Field Organization (which includes seven Field Managers, the Welding Qualification Test Manager, and the Instructor Training Manager), among others.

Plans for 2001 include: Continuing release of the new Enhanced Delivery programs. Implementation of the "Industry Training Alliance Program", formerly referred to as the "Equivalency Program". There are several companies already participating in this program. The 2001 National Collision Repair Conference being held April 4-7, 2001 at the Delta Centre-Ville, Montreal, QC.

Please note that there are no longer expiration dates for coupons. Coupons that you may not have used will continue to be honoured regardless of their expiration date. These coupons are valid for any of our traditional courses, Enhanced Delivery, and the Welding Qualification Test.

We encourage you to contact your local I-CAR Committee Members with any questions you may have or for schedules in your area. This information can be obtained by visiting the I-CAR web site at www.i-car.com.

Thank you in advance for your continued support of I-CAR training in Canada.

I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
