Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases: 2000 Press Releases August 21, 2000 I-CAR COMMITTEES RECOGNIZED WITH AWARDS (Toronto, Ontario) Each year at I-CARs International Annual Meeting, an Awards Banquet is held to recognize and thank the hard work and efforts of I-CAR Committee Members and Volunteers. This years Awards Banquet was a festive event at the Westin Harbour Castle, in Toronto, Ontario. Committee and State/Provincial Representatives proudly accepted the Goal Achievement Awards and Superior Performer Awards in the presence of peers and professionals in the Industry. Student Unit goals are established annually for each state and Canadian Committee. Those that met or exceeded their Student Unit goals in Fiscal 2000 were recognized with the Goal Achievement Award. Northwest Northeast South Central South Pacific Southeast Canada Southwest North Central Within each of I-CARs regions and Canada, one state or province is recognized with the Superior Performer Award. Qualification for the award requires that the state/province achieve the highest percentage over goal, plus have taught every course that I-CAR had available during the Fiscal year. For Fiscal 2000, the courses were Collision Repair 2000; Finish Matching; Plastic Repair; Advanced Vehicle Systems; Steering and Suspension; Electronics for Collision Repair; Professional Detailing; Glass Replacement; Aluminum Repair, Replacement, and Welding; Understanding Collision Repair; and the Workplace Hazardous Materials Courses. Superior Performer Awards were presented to: Northwest Region Oregon I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
