June 30, 2000 CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON A NEW I-CAR TECHNICAL CENTRE (Appleton, WI) The Board of Directors and Staff of I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, recently announced the construction of a new building for the I-CAR Technical Centre. The new 20,500-sq. ft. building will expand I-CARs capabilities and allow for future growth opportunities. The building will include approximately 6,500-sq. ft. of office area, 6,500-sq. ft. of shop space, and a 7,500-sq. ft. warehouse. "During the planning stages of the building, we have been very fortunate to have the support of several equipment suppliers. These suppliers assisted in the shop design and the selection of equipment that will increase our ability to include current repair techniques in our training programs," said Tom McGee, I-CARs Technical Director. He went on to say, "The construction of this facility and the addition of the shop will provide I-CAR with greater resources to increase research, development and validation of collision repair training programs. I-CAR works with vehicle manufacturers and other organizations within the collision industry on various projects, and the ability to have the space to perform repairs in a safe, modern facility are critical for I-CAR to meet the expectations of the Industry." I-CAR plans to relocate the I-CAR Technical Centre to the new facility in September, 2000. I-CAR founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
