I-CAR INVESTIGATING NEW WAYS TO DISTRIBUTE UPCR

(St. Charles, IL) I-CAR announced at its International Annual Meeting, held in St. Charles, IL, July 22 – 25, 1999, that it has completed 158 Uniform Procedures covering virtually all critical repair processes. I-CAR also announced that it is suspending any further procedure development pending decisions as to the best way to make this information available to the Collision Industry.

The decision to discontinue the inclusion of any product and vehicle specific information was also made, due to the fact that recent developments of new communication technology are expected to allow this information to be delivered more efficiently by the proprietors of the product and vehicle specific information.

The Uniform Procedures for Collision Repair are now available on the I-CAR web-site, on a trial basis, to measure the extent of their usage by the Collision Industry and to help determine the effectiveness of the Internet in delivering this type of information.

I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of consumers.
