I-CAR ANNOUNCES INTRODUCTION OF ENHANCED DELIVERY OF I-CAR TRAINING COURSES

(St. Charles, IL) I-CAR announced at its International Annual Meeting, held July 22 - 25, 1999, in St. Charles, IL, that 23 courses utilizing I-CAR's new Enhanced Delivery methods will become available during the first quarter of the calendar year beginning January 1, 2000.

Tom Mack, I-CAR Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, stated that the chosen date is most appropriate, since Enhanced Delivery is a major milestone in I-CAR's progress in serving the Collision Industry. Enhanced Delivery addresses all the areas where I-CAR Training could be improved. The new delivery method incorporates the latest technology in classroom presentations, includes significantly increased technical information, and utilizes more hands-on activities for Students. Enhanced Delivery Programs will also include mandatory testing of Students at the course site. Successful completion of the program test will be required to receive a certificate indicating completion of the program.

Along with these improvements to I-CAR Training, I-CAR will also institute a process that will allow it to recognize equivalent training from other Collision Industry sources such as vehicle makers, equipment and materials suppliers, and vocational-technical schools. Students who participate in training programs that qualify as being equivalent to an I-CAR Enhanced Delivery Program will earn training recognition points in the I-CAR Gold Class Program.

New Enhanced Delivery Programs will be continuously introduced over the next eighteen months. These will include totally new modularized programs such as Restraints, Aluminum Welding, Structural Repair, Air Conditioning, and Damage Analysis, in addition to replacements for existing I-CAR courses. The Enhanced Delivery Programs will be offered along with the current I-CAR courses, which will gradually be phased out once the new programs become available.

I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of consumers.
