February 15, 1999 I-CAR HIRES STEVEN JOHNSON FOR A NEWLY CREATED DIRECTOR OF MARKETING POSITION (Rolling Meadows, IL) I-CAR has created a new Director of Marketing position and is pleased to announce that Steven Johnson was recently hired for this position. In this new position, Steven will be responsible for examining market conditions, analyzing and forecasting market trends, developing customer profiles, creating market databases, conducting product and market research, marketing UPCR, and assisting with the roll out of Enhanced Delivery. He will also oversee marketing for the Gold Class Professionals program and the development of marketing communications materials. Steven holds an MBA, with an emphasis in marketing, from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheaton College. Before coming to I-CAR, he was employed as Manager, Market Analysis of the Industrial OE/Aftermarket division for Chicago Rawhide Americas in Elgin, IL. Other positions held during his 9 years at Chicago Rawhide Americas include: Director of Marketing, OE; Marketing Planning Manager, OE; and Market Planner/Research Analyst. Prior to working for Chicago Rawhide Americas, Steven had been employed by Extel Corporation in Northbrook, IL, Prime Computer, Inc. in Oak Brook, IL, and GAB Business Services in Aurora, IL. Steven has over 20 years of business and marketing experience. "We are extremely pleased to have a person of Steve's caliber joining I-CAR," said Tom Mack, I-CAR Executive Vice President. "During the past several years, I-CAR's service to the Collision Repair Industry has expanded with the addition of the I-CAR Welding Qualification Test, UPCR and now the Enhanced Delivery of I-CAR's conventional training programs. The industry itself is changing, and we want to be sure that I-CAR continues to meet the technical training and information needs of the industry. Therefore, we felt it was necessary to separate out the direction of the Marketing and Field Operations areas, allowing an increased focus on each area." I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of consumers.
